Note: It is recommended to refill the same Okidata toner cartridge up to 2 times before replacing with a new OEM Okidata toner cartridge or a new compatible OKI cartridge (with new drum and parts). This way you always maintain high quality prints and high page yields alternating between new cartridges and our Okidata series toner refills.

IMPORTANT: Starter cartridges can not be successfully refilled due to a printer reset issue (except when used specifically with the OKI C5100 printer, that printer can be fulled to accept the starter cartridges back - the other C5000 series okidata printers are "smarter" and will not accept a refilled "starter" cartridge) . All replacement cartridges however CAN be successfully refilled and accepted by all the above mentioned printers (OKIDATA C3200N and OKIDATA C5100 Toner Series (Okidata C3200n / C3300n / C3400n/ C5100 / Okidata C5150 / C5200 / C5250 / C5300 / C5400 / C5450 / C5500* / C5800*). Note: "starter cartridges" refer to the cartridges that come with the printer when you first purchase the printer, and "replacement" cartridges are the ones that you buy loose from printer supply stores. If you have a "starter" cartridge and your printer is not the C5100, it is recommended that you buy a NEW replacement cartridge first (OEM from Okidata, or a compatible cartridge from us), and do your refills on those. * OKIDATA C5500 / C5800 cartridges only:

• These have chips which will prevent the printer from recognizing the refilled cartridge. You can successfully refill the cartridges and overcome this issue if you refill BEFORE the printer reaches toner low, and the chip switches it all off
• Alternatively, if the switch locks you out and you did not refill in time, you can put the printer into ‘Factory Mode’ (as per Okidata manual) although the toner usage is different to normal printing using this method.
• Finally, if your toner chip level is completely low or empty, the best and most secure way of refilling these is to install a new chip. Installation of the chip is easy, and the chips are now available (sold separately on this site), do a search for "Okidata C5500 chip"
